Windy City Junior Curling Program

Looking for a fun and welcoming way for young curlers to learn the Sport of Curling? Our Junior Curling Program is designed to introduce and develop curling skills in a supportive, age-appropriate environment.

The Junior Curling Program is open to anyone under the age of 21, whether they are brand new to curling or looking to build on prior experience. Participants will learn the fundamentals of delivery, sweeping, teamwork, and curling etiquette—while having fun on the ice with fellow junior curlers.

Children under the age of 14 must have a parent or guardian present at the club for the duration of each session until approval by the club that supervision is no longer needed.

All curling equipment will be provided by the club. Participants should dress warmly and wear clean athletic shoes.

Costs: $100 for the entire session -- but the first session is free. Participants will be expected to pay at the club prior to their second session.

Program Information

All Junior Curling sessions will be held on Sundays from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on the following dates:

• January 25
• February 8
• March 15
• March 29
• April 19
• May 17
• May 31

Participants are welcome to join the program at any point during the season, with each session reinforcing core skills and fundamentals.

Junior Skills & Instruction

Junior Curling sessions are led by experienced instructors and club members who focus on building confidence, safety, and enjoyment of the sport. Each session includes a mix of on-ice instruction and gameplay, allowing juniors to learn at their own pace.

Skills and topics covered include proper stone delivery, sweeping basics, teamwork and communication, ready curling principles, and the Spirit of Curling—emphasizing sportsmanship, respect, and fair play. By the end of the program, participants will have a strong foundation and be ready to continue curling in junior programming.

The wait is over—The Founder's Cup is back! Get ready to hit the ice and experience the perfect blend of competition, camaraderie, and curling fun.This event is for Windy City Curling members and those who have completed a Rookie League at Windy City Curling in the last 12 months. 

Whether you're a seasoned curler or a rookie just getting started, this event is designed to bring curlers of all levels together for a unique and exciting bonspiel experience.
