Windy City Curling - Juniors Program 2026-2027
Windy City Junior Curling Program
Looking for a fun and welcoming way for young curlers to learn the Sport of Curling? Our Junior Curling Program is designed to introduce and develop curling skills in a supportive, age-appropriate environment.
The Junior Curling Program is open to anyone under the age of 21, whether they are brand new to curling or looking to build on prior experience. Participants will learn the fundamentals of delivery, sweeping, teamwork, and curling etiquette—while having fun on the ice with fellow junior curlers.
Children under the age of 14 must have a parent or guardian present at the club for the duration of each session until approval by the club that supervision is no longer needed.
All curling equipment will be provided by the club. Participants should dress warmly and wear clean athletic shoes.
Costs: $250 for the entire season. Those that were part of the program last year will receive a coupon code for $50 off.

Junior Curling sessions are led by experienced instructors and club members who focus on building confidence, safety, and enjoyment of the sport. Each session includes a mix of on-ice instruction and gameplay, allowing juniors to learn at their own pace.
Skills and topics covered include proper stone delivery, sweeping basics, teamwork and communication, ready curling principles, and the Spirit of Curling—emphasizing sportsmanship, respect, and fair play. By the end of the program, participants will have a strong foundation and be ready to continue curling in junior programming.
"The Drag Effect" LGBTQ+ Pridespiel '27

SAVE THE DATE:Registration opens OCTOBER 26th, 2026 at NOON for LGBTQ+ players & teams!
About our Bonspiel
The Drag Effect follows the American tradition of playing for award pins (and not money). Instead of offering cash to the event winners, we offer every player:
** Full lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday\
** Light continental breakfast options on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
** A slew of great snacks in between (many homemade by our members!)
** A cooler stocked with a variety of beers, seltzers, canned cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks, and water all weekend long
^^ All of this is included in your registration. So you see? Everyone wins, no matter how they perform on the ice!
ABOUT THIS YEAR'S THEME: It's our FIFTH year of running The Drag Effect. As such, this year's theme is, "It's Giving, 'Into the Woods.'"
What on earth does that mean? Well, the traditional gift for five-year anniversaries is wood. (Some places say the "modern" gift ought to be silverware, but that's boring.) So we're blending this with our love of musical theatre to create another loosey-goosey 'theme' for people to have fun with.
If it's hard wood, it's all good. If it's Broadway-based, it's all good. If you know your Sondheim and are aware "Into the Woods" is a musical about fairy tales and you want to dress up in your own clever take a classic fairy tale story, IT'S ALL GOOD. And these are just a few suggestions. Feel free to play around with this theme HOWEVER YOU WANT. From costumes to fun team names, be as creative as you'd like. (Or don't. There's no costume contest or any prize for best team name. It's all just for funsies.)
All we ask is that you please not wear anything on the ice that could potentially damage the surface (i.e. - glitter, sequins that could fall off, feathers from a boa, etc.).
HOTEL INFORMATION: TBD - Stay tuned!
